A 19th Century Oil Lamp with a Red Earthenware Base Recently Discovered in Southeastern Pennsylvania

This is something that I have never seen before - this nineteenth century oil lamp retains all of its original parts, including a painted and unglazed red earthenware base, which was recently discovered in southeastern Pennsylvania. It was most likely manufactured/assembled at the Goodwin Bros. Pottery in West Hartford, Connecticut, based on a nearly identical lamp that is illustrated on the cover of a Goodwin Bros. company envelope. 

Furthermore, the painted decoration on this lamp appears to be original to the company, seeing that a very similar style of paint is also found on the lamp that is illustrated on the envelope. The envelope states, "Goodwin Brothers / Manufacturers of Artist Pottery and Lamps."
