It's back from the printer! The seventh installment of my pottery book series, titled, From One Town Came Many: The Red Earthenware Industry of North Yarmouth, Maine. The book is 569 pages, and covers red earthenware production in the Yarmouth area, Portland, Maine, Exeter, New Hampshire, Newburyport, Massachusetts, some production in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Days Ferry, Maine, and many other areas, where there was red earthenware production in Maine.
Furthermore, the book is based on archaeology, along with early family records, histories and objects that descended through those families, as well as museum and private collections from across the country. The book also defines production from the Dodge family in Portland, a subject that has been debated through the years. Also discussed is stoneware made in Maine, among many other subjects. The book also illustrates the Dr. Brian Mills Collection in its entirety, perhaps (or among) the most comprehensive private collection of Maine pottery ever assembled. There is also some never before published great archaeology from other locations in Maine.
I’m excited to see this book in print! It will be available from my publisher Historic Beverly in Massachusetts, along with bookstores located all over America, Canada, and possibly other locations, as well. Stay tuned for the release date!
