Two Great Images of the C.A. Lawrence Pottery in Beverly, Massachusetts

Last weekend, I was thrilled to write that I had just acquired an original nineteenth century picture of the C.A. Lawrence Pottery kiln in Beverly, Massachusetts, after a fire on May 14, 1883. The owner of the business, Charles A. Lawrence (1829-1906) is illustrated in the image along with some of the company's other potters and workers.

I also recently learned about another original picture of the Beverly Pottery in the collection of the Beverly Historical Society. This picture shows a circa 1905 view of Beverly from Green's Hill with the C.A. Lawrence Pottery in the foreground. This picture is spectacular seeing that it really illustrates the size of this business.

Another image of the pottery is also known from about 1870, which shows another view of the business from the Bass River, where the name of the company is prominently seen on the side of the building.
