For those of you anticipating my new 471-page book from Historic Beverly in Beverly, Massachusetts, titled, A Celebrated Industry: The Historic Wares of Southeastern Massachusetts, Bristol County and Cape Cod - I just wanted to briefly provide an update on its publication status. A second proof copy arrived back from the printer yesterday, which I have already gone through; an order of books will be placed soon, and they should be back from the printer to purchase in the next few weeks for $40 plus shipping. I will post an update on this website as soon as the books are back providing details on how the book can be purchased online or in person in the museum's bookstore.

Nevertheless, every now and again, I post good pieces of red earthenware and stoneware that are for sale somewhere in the antiques world on this website, and seeing that my new 471-page book is about to be published, I thought this would be a good piece of circa 1780-1830 Bristol County red earthenware to discuss. This is a finely thrown green glazed jug that was previously owned for many years by Lew Scranton, and I recently learned that it is currently for sale with Dave Hillier at Antiques Associates at West Townsend in Massachusetts; contact them for details. This piece is also illustrated a few times in my new book!
