An 18th Century Slip-Decorated Bowl that was Likely Made in Pennsylvania

I will discuss this object in detail on a later date; however, I wanted to show this wonderful slip-decorated red earthenware bowl, which I acquired from a friend today in central Massachusetts.  I believe this bowl is probably a late-eighteenth-century object likely made in Pennsylvania, but it also appears like it may have a Moravian influence, as well.

The feature that will likely properly attribute this bowl to a specific area is the slip-design that was applied in the center, which appears like a tree, a fern or some type of flower. This design was completely applied by hand.

Measures 13 1/8" in Diameter
