A Preview of a Forthcoming Feature Story that Will be Published in Antiques And The Arts Weekly

This is a preview of my next published feature story that will be out in a few weeks in Antiques And The Arts Weekly; the focus of the story is a signed nineteenth century red earthenware jug from Western New York. The jug has never been illustrated in publication, and it has only briefly been cited in text in a book once, which was in William C. Ketchum Jr.'s 1987 book, Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900: Second Edition.

Personally, I think this is an exciting article, which provides more information about a Western New York potter that very little is known about today; the jug is inscribed on the base, George B. Graham Maker, Ont. Co. New York." But the story will also discuss production in Ontario County, New York and Erie County, New York, along with the career of museum specialist and archaeologist George R. Hamell. I'm really looking forward to this story!
