A 19th Century Red Earthenware Jar Seen A Few Winters Ago in Uxbridge, Massachusetts

After a hike two winters ago in central Massachusetts with my niece Alexis, we stopped into an antique and vintage type shop on our ride home in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, known as Bernat Mill Antiques, which is where we saw this nineteenth century red earthenware jar. And even though the lid was not original, the glaze certainly piqued my interest, seeing that I felt the jar may have been made somewhere in New England. 

Furthermore, I had also wondered if the jar may have been made in West Sterling, Massachusetts, circa 1820s-1870 or so, which is about thirty miles north of where this shop was located. Nonetheless, I did not buy the jar, but it is something that I have always remembered.
