Earlier this month, some good examples of late eighteenth and/or nineteenth century American red earthenware sold in B&D Auctions online only antiques and collectibles sale in Westminster, Maryland. The sale took place from June 9th to June 18th, and among the best objects in the auction were a heavily decorated lidded red earthenware handled crock with some script, a red earthenware mug and a slip decorated red earthenware flask. The crock and flask were possibly from Pennsylvania, while the mug may have been made somewhere in the Shenandoah Valley.
