New Published Feature Story: The Thomas Chandler Exhibit at the McKissick Museum at the University of South Carolina

This past June, my nephew and I visited the McKissick Museum at the University of South Carolina in Columbia to see an exhibit on Thomas Chandler's (1810-54) stoneware production in the Edgefield District in South Carolina. The exhibit was outstanding, and a few days after arriving home, I wrote a story about our experience.

I am excited to announce tonight that this story was just published today in the September 27, 2019 issue of Antiques & Auction News. The story is largely about the exhibit and the history of the pottery, but I also added my own experiences with Edgefield pottery based on what I have seen living in New England. I also discuss some significant examples of Chandler's production that I have seen in recent years in other major museums.

Here is a link to the story posted on Antiques & Auction News' website - I will also post the print version once it becomes available.
