In particular, there were two excellent glazed examples of red earthenware in the sale; the first being one of the finest glazed jugs that I have seen from Essex County, Massachusetts, and the second was a beautifully colored mug from northern New England.
However, the mug was also grouped together in a lot with this remarkably glazed red earthenware jar possibly from Ontario; whereas, there are similar styles known regarded as traditional forms of Ontario pottery, and usually manufactured sometime during the second-half of the nineteenth century. The color of this jar is really amazing!
