Update: A Rare 19th Century Ceramic Advertising Plate that Reads "Abraham French & Co. / Boston"

I posted about this small nineteenth century advertising plate last week, although here is an update, seeing that I just acquired it, and I wanted to show its size: http://www.earlyamericanceramics.com/2024/11/a-rare-19th-century-ceramic-advertising.html.

Nevertheless, this is a very rare circa 1869-1884 transfer decorated advertising plate from Abraham French’s (1815-1884) store in Boston. The firm billed itself as “Importers of Crockery, China and Glass Ware, French and Bohemian Fancy Goods, Silver Plated Ware and Cutlery, Paper Hangings.” 

To my knowledge, this is the only plate that exits like it, whereas French is probably most known today for various circa 1879-1884 trade cards that advertised his Franklin Street business in Boston, such as some examples that are owned by Historic New England.
