A Good Late 19th Century Pitcher from the New England Pottery Company in East Boston, Mass. Found in a Thrift Store Near Boston

This is a thrift store find from yesterday! This late nineteenth century hand-painted semi-porcelain pitcher was made about ten miles south of where I just found it at the New England Pottery Company in East Boston, Massachusetts. I really like the fact that it apparently has retained a local history of ownership for more than 100 years, and it certainly did not travel far from when it was originally manufactured in the 1880s or 1890s. Objects directly related to this pitcher are displayed today at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, among other museums in America.
