This was a fun thrift store find yesterday for $1 in Haverhill, Massachusetts! This miniature stoneware beanpot possibly (most likely) originated at the Moses Paige Pottery in Peabody, Massachusetts in the early 1900s, whereas it is inscribed in gold paint, "Souvenir Amesbury, Mass."
However, the stoneware that was sold by the Paige Pottery actually came from the C.C. Thompson Pottery Company in East Liverpool, Ohio; the two companies did business together, and found in the collection of the Peabody Historical Society are some catalogs from the C.C. Thompson Pottery Company that the museum acquired directly from the Paige Pottery.
Furthermore, the script on this pot also closely resembles other scripts found on some red earthenware miniature beanpots that were produced in Peabody and at the Charles A. Lawrence Pottery in Beverly, Massachusetts.
