Four Important 19th Century Red Earthenware Jars Made at the Same Business in Western New York

I have visited museums, archaeology departments, dealer's inventories and private collections all over the country working on my forthcoming 800 plus page Western New York book, whereas these are the only four jars like this that I know about today. And incredibly, each jar is decorated with a different glaze style! Two of the jars also retain strong histories of ownership in Western New York, one of which was found decades ago in Clarence, New York.

Nonetheless, it is thought that this type of jar was made by one of the early potter's businesses in the Bloomfield, New York area, which includes the Nathaniel Rochester Pottery in Bloomfield and the Wheeler Griffin Pottery in West Bloomfield that was later acquired by Alvin Wilcox in the 1820s.

Furthermore, I would be thrilled to hear from anyone reading this who may own a related jar - I feel this is an important type of early production from Western New York.
