I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City in December, in order to see the new exhibit, Hear Me Now: The Black Potters of Old Edgefield, South Carolina; however, this exhibit is now at the the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the display is just as good, although taking on a completely different appearance and presentation.
In fact, among the aspects that I enjoyed seeing in this exhibit is how the MFA incorporated the known history of Jack and Acton into the display, two enslaved black potters at the Parker family pottery in Charlestown, Massachusetts before 1750.
The exhibit runs through July 9, 2023.
