A Recently Discovered Red Earthenware Jar from Southeastern Massachusetts Found in North Carolina

This has probably been the most dramatic piece of red earthenware that I have ever acquired, which has been missing for three-to-four days since it was reportedly delivered to my house in Newburyport, Massachusetts around noon on Monday December 11, 2017. However, somehow the package reappeared at the post office's distribution facility today; whereas, it was delivered, again a few moments ago. It is definitely a strange story to tell!

Nevertheless, this is a wonderful late-eighteenth or early-nineteenth century red earthenware jar from southeastern Massachusetts that was recently discovered in North Carolina. The size of this object is rare standing over ten-inches tall. The glaze is also a style regularly found with early red earthenware manufactured in both Essex County and southeastern Massachusetts.
