Another 19th Century Coggle and Three Color Slip Decorated Red Earthenware Plate Likely from Southeastern Pennsylvania

After posting two stories this week about nineteenth century coggle and three color slip decorated red earthenware plates likely from Southeastern Pennsylvania, I learned of yet another example that is privately owned in New Jersey. This plate was acquired by the current owner in 1972; according to that owner, "I bought it from a local dealer, Betsy Demarest, who lived in an eighteenth century stone house in Morris County, New Jersey. Her family were an historic family in Bergen County, New Jersey and her mother had been a dealer also. Betsy said it came from an old collection. She and her parents had a lot of local contacts due to their historic family roots." Additionally, the back of this plate is signed with the initials "I.C," although it is currently unclear what those initials mean and who they may represent.
