Excellent Green Glazed Bristol County, Mass. Red Earthenware Jug Sells in Rhode Island

This outstanding late eighteenth or early nineteenth century emerald green glazed red earthenware jug from Bristol County, Massachusetts sold last Friday at Bruneau & Company Auctioneers in Cranston, Rhode Island. This is an excellent example of the vibrant green glazes that were manufactured in this region, circa 1780-1830. A number of related jugs and archaeology will also be included in my forthcoming 400 page book that should be available to purchase in the next few months, as part of my book series through Historic Beverly, titled, A Celebrated Industry: The Historic Wares of Southeastern Massachusetts, Bristol County and Cape Cod.

This jug sold for $6,000 plus the auction premiums.
