Published in the January 1, 2021 issue of Antiques & Auction News is a research story I wrote about red earthenware production in River Edge, Bergen County, New Jersey, titled, "The Red Earthenware Manufactured in River Edge, New Jersey: A Look At Bergen County Pottery." River Edge's nineteenth century production is significant and somewhat overlooked today, even though this was a major supplier of household pottery for communities located along the Hackensack River and in New York City.
This story basically completes a series I wrote over the last few years about New York City's early domestic red earthenware and stoneware, dating from the seventeenth century through the nineteenth century. I will post the print version as soon as it becomes available.
