This is a good black glazed eighteenth or early nineteenth century red earthenware jar most likely from Bristol County, Massachusetts that I acquired yesterday, which had been owned for decades by Brian Ferguson, an antiques dealer in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He told me that he found this jar years ago in Bristol County, and it is an object that he has always held onto. It also cleaned up nicely, seeing that it was quite dirty on the exterior and interior until yesterday afternoon.
