A Giant Early 19th Century Slip Decorated Red Earthenware Charger Likely From Philadelphia

This was quite a surprise yesterday! I just picked up this outstanding giant early nineteenth century slip decorated red earthenware charger with likely a Philadelphia origin from Cape Cod antiques dealer Brian Cullity. It measures seventeen inches in diameter. In fact, it is the largest Philadelphia charger that I have ever held outside of an archaeological context. It also appears that it could be from the same manufacturer as another Philadelphia charger, although slightly smaller that sold at Crocker Farm in Maryland in the fall of 2021 (previously sold in March of 2017), whereas according to the family history of that object, "the charger came from a Pennsylvania-German family who dried apples on it to make schnitzes."
