A Newly Identified Rare Example of William Pecker's Stoneware Production in Massachusetts

I will post more information and pictures of this piece once it arrives later this week, although I wanted to show this early nineteenth century stoneware jug that I just acquired from dealers in New Jersey, which was made by William Pecker (1757-1820) in South Amesbury (Merrimacport), Massachusetts. It is one of only a few known to exist today, and this is definitely among the better examples. Interestingly, the stamp was applied upside down on this jug; I have no idea how that happened, but it certainly adds an additional level of interest, for me, at least.
