Nonetheless, I thought these five twentieth century photographs of Jacob Medinger and some of the pottery he manufactured were outstanding, which sold on eBay a few days. Apparently, they surfaced in Vermont. Four of the five images are new to me with the only one that I have previously seen being the picture showing Jacob throwing an object on the potter's wheel.
I was told by Pennsylvania collector, Jeff Herb that these photos were taken by Cornelius Weygandt (1871-1957), an English Literature professor at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and a leading authority on all things Pennsylvania Dutch. Some of the pottery illustrated is from his collection, and not all of the pottery pictured in the group photos was made by Medinger.
