Pair of Southeastern Massachusetts Red Earthenware Jars Recently Discovered Inside a Nantucket Estate

Four or five days ago, Connecticut bottle and stoneware collector, Alan Adams kindly let me know about a pair of late-eighteenth or early-nineteenth century southeastern Massachusetts lidded red earthenware jars that were listed through an online auction. The lids may be original, but I was also thrilled to learn a little while ago that I was the winning bidder for both of these objects.

I will share more information about them once they arrive this week, but in the meantime, I would like to thank Alan Adams for generously sharing information. Interestingly, though both of these jars were reportedly just discovered inside a Nantucket estate. I hope to gather more information about the estate in the next couple of days, which I would like to write about on this website later this week.
